Where did you grow up?
Washington, DC.

What brought you to New York?
Clothes, food, art, culture, friends!

What do you do for a living?
I am a clothing designer.

How did you get started?
I have always made a lot of clothes for myself, and about a year after I moved to New York I decided to try to sell them. I approached a store I love called Duo in the East Village and they picked up a couple styles. After selling through their orders a couple times and getting some press, I took the line to more stores and it grew from there!

What’s your favorite thing about your neighborhood?
It is beautiful! Fort Greene has the best architecture, giant trees, everyone has dogs– it’s the best.

What’s the last treasure you found?
I got a very special vintage Benetton sweater at a thrift store in New Jersey.

If you were going to eat your last meal in New York, where and what would you eat?
Jimmy’s Diner. I’d have the pulled pork sandwich and french fries.

If you could have a sleepover with anyone who has ever existed, who would it be?
My best friend Sarah! She lives in Texas, I miss her.

If your life was a TV show, what would be the theme song?
“My Own World” by Eleanor Friedberger.

What does New York need that it doesn’t have now?
Good tex-mex
